“Landscapes of Self: A Therapeutic Art Group for Dementia Caregivers”

This unique art therapy group offers dementia caregivers a gentle space to reconnect with themselves through creativity. In this session, you’ll explore your emotions and experiences by depicting yourself as a landscape, allowing you to express and understand your inner world in a non-verbal, visual way.

What You’ll Experience:

  • Express and Understand Your Emotions: Practice using art to explore your feelings and increase self-awareness by reflecting your emotional landscape.
  • Learn a Step-by-Step Art Process: Gain confidence as I guide you through the exercise, giving you a tool to use repeatedly on your own for emotional check-ins.
  • Mindfulness Meets Creativity: Discover how pairing mindfulness with art can help you create a space free from self-judgment, offering a break from the demands of caregiving.
  • Foster Self-Compassion: Develop a creative practice that nurtures self-compassion, helping you better manage your mental and emotional well-being.
  • Connect with Others: Share your journey with fellow dementia caregivers who understand the challenges you face, creating a supportive community where you’re not alone.

This session will help you establish a creative outlet that promotes inner reflection and personal care, so you can continue caring for others while also caring for yourself.

No prior art experience is necessary—just a willingness to explore and connect with yourself through creative expression.
