In this group, we will learn how to use simple art materials to learn how to check in with ourselves to understand our own needs better. I will teach and guide you through an art exercise that will help you start creating your visual language that will allow you to connect with yourself on a deeper level. As caregivers, we are often so used to putting our own needs aside to serve others that it can be tough to recognize them anymore.

This is an exercise you can do time and again and is a great introduction to using art therapeutically.

In this session, you will:
🩵 Practice using a visual medium to explore what you are feeling so that you can increase your self-awareness
🩵 The step-by-step process for a therapeutic art exercise so that you can feel confident to do it again on your own
🩵 Learn how to pair mindfulness techniques with creating art to create a pocket of time free from judgment
🩵 Engaging and developing a creative practice that fosters self-compassion so that you can improve your mental well-being 🩵 Connect with other dementia caregivers who understand your experiences and know that you are not alone
